Late-season rice cultivar selection will benefit from a deeper understanding of these results in the context of future climate warming.Currently, weed control hinges largely on the use of mechanical and chemical damage. Non-destructive monitoring of weed stress physiological states using chlorophyll fluorescence (CF) technology is vital for understanding the mechanisms of damage caused by mechanical, chemical, or combined stress factors. Under simulated real-world field conditions, various species and leaf-age weeds (Digitaria sanguinalis, 2-5 leaf stages, and Erigeron canadensis, 5-10 leaf stages) underwent experimental treatments lasting 1 to 7 days, with fluorescence parameters recorded every 24 hours by means of a chlorophyll fluorometer. This research endeavored to assess changes in CF parameters within diverse weed species, including Digitaria sanguinalis and Erigeron canadensis, while situated at various stress sites under chemical, mechanical, or combined stress factors. In the study of Digitaria sanguinalis and Erigeron canadensis weeds under chemical stress, the most severe stress response was observed in the leaf backs after seven days, leading to a 75% reduction in photosynthetic activity. While mechanical stress's changes are notable, its effect is distinct. Each parameter, after a period of stress, shows some degree of recovery within one to two days, a recovery of 11% being noted under heavy mechanical stress. The impact of complex stress on CF parameters was most significant, particularly concerning the timing and effectiveness of changes in Fv/Fm, Fq'/Fm', ETR, Rfd, NPQ, and Y(NO). By expanding the taxonomic scope and including data from two nuclear and eight chloroplast regions, this study has substantially improved the phylogenetic basis for Callicarpa. To ascertain the temporal and distributional diversification patterns in Callicarpa, we employed divergence time estimations and biogeographic analyses, ultimately identifying shifts in the geographical ranges across phylogenetic lineages. Analyses of the phylogeny confirm Callicarpa's monophyletic status with respect to the considered groups, and eight independently supported primary clades are evident from the integrated analyses. Based on our estimations, the Callicarpa crown group likely originated during the latter part of the Eocene epoch (approximately). By the Miocene epoch (3.623 Ma), the diversification of most lineages reached its peak, continuing into the Pleistocene. In addition, our biogeographic assessments suggested an East and Southeast Asian origin for the ancestral Callicarpa crown clade. Analyzing the composition of microbial communities within the wheat rhizosphere throughout the Indo-Gangetic plain, and their correlation with soil parameters, can be a key stepping stone in the advancement of microbial formulation strategies. The current study explored the core microbiota of the wheat rhizosphere by means of a culture-independent approach. Twenty rhizospheric soil samples, each taken from a unique site in the upper Indo-Gangetic plains, underwent analysis of their bacterial community structures, accomplished through sequencing of the V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene. An assessment of bacterial diversity across various sites reveals considerable variability. The wheat rhizosphere in this region demonstrated a taxonomic profile dominated by the phyla Proteobacteria, Chloroflexi, Actinobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Acidobacteria, Gemmatimonadetes, Planctomycetes, Verrucomicrobia, Firmicutes, and Cyanobacteria. To scrutinize the changes in the morphological and physiological attributes of three urban tree species seedlings (Bombax ceiba, Conocarpus lancifolius, and Eucalyptus camaldulensis), this study was structured to evaluate the individual and combined effects of heavy metal lead (Pb) and limestone dust toxicity. Nine treatments for tree species cultivation were implemented under controlled environmental conditions, comprising three concentrations of dust (0, 10, and 20 grams) and three concentrations of Pb-contaminated irrigation water (0, 5, and 10 milligrams per liter). The growth of all selected tree species, as portrayed by the results, achieved its maximum value in T1 and its minimum in T9. Relative to the other two tree species, B. ceiba showed a superior response to comparable levels of Pb and limestone dust pollution. Under conditions of lead and limestone pollution, the B. ceiba tree species exhibited a strong ability to manage oxidative stress through a significant increase in SOD, POD, CAT, and proline levels in response to varying concentrations of lead and dust pollution. All three tree species showed decreased photosynthetic rate, stomatal conductance, evapotranspiration rate, and transpiration rate in response to varying lead and dust applications.
