As part of a region-wide quality improvement initiative to reduce healthcare disparities among African American patients with uncontrolled hypertension, three multi-disciplinary care management teams were invited to participate in a two-part communication training program. A paired samples t-test was used to assess program effectiveness based on participant responses to a validated c individual cultural competence. Many antipsychotics elevate prolactin, a hormone implicated in breast cancer aetiology however no studies have investigated antipsychotic use in patients with breast cancer. This study investigated if antipsychotic use is associated with an increased risk of cancer-specific mortality among breast cancer patients. A cohort of 23,695 women newly diagnosed with a primary breast cancer between 1st January 1998 and 31st December 2012 was identified from the UK Clinical Practice Research Datalink linked to English cancer-registries and followed for until 30th September 2015. Time-dependent Cox proportional hazards models were used to calculate adjusted hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of breast cancer-specific mortality comparing use of antipsychotics with non-use, overall, and by prolactin elevating activitiy. Analyses were repeated restricting to patients with a history of severe mental illness to control for potential confounding by indication. In total 848 patients were prescribed ancancer patients, while the use of antipsychotics was associated with increased breast cancer-specific mortality, there was a lack of a dose response, and importantly null associations were observed in patients with severe mental illness, suggesting the observed association is likely a result of confounding by indication. This study provides an exemplar of confounding by indication, highlighting the importance of consideration of this important bias in studies of drug effects in cancer patients. The main treatment methods for early gastric cancer (EGC) include endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and radical gastrectomy. However, appropriate treatment for patients who exceed the absolute indications for ESD remains unestablished. In China, evidence-based medicine for the expanding indications of ESD and accurate diagnostic staging for EGC patients are lacking. Thus, clinical studies involving Chinese patients with EGC are necessary to select appropriate treatment options and promote China's expanded indications for ESD and diagnostic staging scheme. Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is the sixth most common tumor in human. Research has shown that HPV status HNSCC is a unique prognosis factor, which may due to its immune infiltration landscape. But the underlying mechanism is unclear. In this study, we used a combination of several bioinformatics tools, including WCGNA, ssGSEA, CIBERSORT, TIDE,etc., to explore significant genes both related to HPV infection status and immune cell infiltration in HNSCC patients. Combined with several bioinformatics algorithms, eight hub genes were identified, including LTB, CD19, CD3D, SKAP1, KLRB1, CCL19, TBC1D10C and ARHGAP4. In HNSCC population, the hub genes had a stable co-expression, which was related to immune cell infiltration, especially CD8+ T cells, and the infiltrative immune cells were in a dysfunctional status.
