Crafting is the process of constructing tools or items as well as blocks in Minecraft. Players can craft by moving items from their inventory to a crafting grid , and organizing them according to a recipe. A 2x2 grid of crafting can be accessible from the player's inventory . Likewise, the 3x3 grid is accessed by using crafting tables. You can also craft items made by the 2x2 grid on the crafting table.

3x3 Crafting grid (crafting table)
Players in Creative or Creative Bedrock Edition only] Survival or Adventure Spectator[ Java Edition only] always have access to the 2x2 crafting grid from their inventory screen. There are small crafting recipes that can be made that are not more than 2x2. These include wooden planks, sticks, crafting tables torches, as well as non-shapeless recipes. To create items using a grid of 3x3, create a crafting table with 4 wooden planks placed in the middle of the universe, and press use while facing it. This will open an interface with a 3x3 crafting grid, which the player can use to craft any crafting recipe in the game. There is also a recipe book where you can find all the crafting recipes.
Certain recipes do not require their ingredients to be arranged in a specific way on the crafting grid. They are commonly referred to as unstructured recipes. Players can create the fermented spider-eye using its ingredients anywhere on the grid. [note 1]
However most recipes require their ingredients be placed in the right places on the crafting grid. They are also known as "shaped" recipes. Shaped recipes allow ingredients to be moved upwards or downwards or left, right, or both. They can also flip sideways. A 3x1 recipe such as bread can be created using the top middle, middle, and bottom rows of the 3x3 grid. It cannot be made using the 2x2 grid as it requires three ingredients to be covered. Bows can be made by putting the strings on the left side instead.
Certain recipes are not able to be moved or mirrored in this manner. These are commonly known as fixed recipes. Banner recipes, like, must be placed precisely in order to achieve the desired pattern. [ Bedrock Edition only Fixed recipes can be added with data packs or mods.
In contrast to other actions in the game like brewing, smelting, and the enchanting, crafting is totally silent.

The first tab is comprised of all recipes that are unlocked. The second tab contains tools, weapons, and armor. The third tab is for building materials. The fourth tab contains food items and miscellaneous items. - The fifth tab contains redstone materials.
