A metabolomic approach based on an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-Orbitrap analytical method was established to analyze the metabolites and to investigate the therapeutic mechanism of colchicine. Forty-six biomarkers were significantly changed between the sham group and the MI group. Thirty-five metabolites were increased and 11 were decreased in MI rats, and colchicine reversed all of them. Pathway analysis showed that the TCA cycle, alanine, aspartate and glutamate metabolism, glycerophospholipid metabolism, aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis, glyoxylate and dicarboxylate metabolism and arginine biosynthesis were altered in the MI group. We aimed to evaluate antihypertensive medications and COVID-19 diagnosis and mortality, accounting for healthcare-seeking behaviour. A population-based case-control study was conducted including 16 866 COVID-19 cases and 70 137 matched controls from the UK Clinical Practice Research Datalink. We evaluated all-cause mortality among COVID-19 cases. Exposures were angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs), angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs), beta-blockers (B), calcium-channel blockers (C), thiazide diuretics (D) and other antihypertensive drugs (O). Analyses were adjusted for covariates and consultation frequency. ACEIs were associated with lower odds of COVID-19 diagnosis (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] 0.82, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.77-0.88) as were ARBs (AOR 0.87, 95% CI 0.80-0.95) with little attenuation from adjustment for consultation frequency. C and D were also associated with lower odds of COVID-19 diagnosis. Here, we investigated the impact of polyurethane/pyrrole scaffold on the angiogenesis differentiation of rabbit mesenchymal stem cells toward endothelial lineage in vitro. Nanoelectrospun polyurethane/pyrrole fibers were synthesized and characterized using attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectrum analysis, scanning electron microscope (SEM) imaging. Mechanical properties, electroconductivity, and hydrophobicity were also measured. The viability of cells was monitored 72 hours after being plated on the polyurethane/pyrrole surface. The endothelial differentiation of stem cells was explored using western blotting. ATR-FTIR revealed that the pyrrole was successfully polymerized to polypyrrole and blend with polyurethane fibers. The addition of pyrrole to polyurethane increased the tensile strength compared to the polyurethane group. These features coincided with the reduction of the hydrophilic properties of polyurethane. Based on our data, the electro-conductivity of polyurethane/pyrrole was superior compared to the polyurethane group. SEM imaging showed an appropriate cell attachment to the surface of polyurethane/pyrrole and polyurethane groups synthesized membranes. MTT assay revealed a significantly increased survival rate in the polyurethane/pyrrole group compared to the polyurethane group (P less then .05).
