Pregnancy loss and the death of their baby can be overwhelming for families, especially when the loss is unexpected. The standard of bereavement care families receive around the time of pregnancy or early infant loss can have a significant impact on their psychological recovery. At times external inquiries are carried out to identify issues in the maternity care provided and make recommendations to improve its' standard. This study aims to describe the impact of bereavement care provided to families around the time of pregnancy and/or early infant loss as stated in ten published inquiry reports related to Irish maternity services. Using thematic analysis, issues with care encountered by bereaved parents as outlined in the reports were identified. These focussed around five main themes (communication, healthcare staff skills, maternity unit environment, post-mortem/coronial process, local incident reviews). Bereavement care, as described by families in the ten reports, was not consistently individualis in the scientific literature.Consistent, individualised bereavement care facilitates a seamless transition for bereaved families from diagnosis through the hospital stay to discharge and follow-up, allowing them to focus on their baby, their bereavement and their family's wellbeing. The process of consent for a perinatal post-mortem and associated concerns have evolved over the timeframe of the ten inquiries. We reflect further on this and the impacts of the other issues highlighted, as well as discussing possible improvements to address them as described in the scientific literature. Undergraduate nursing students have the opportunity to develop information literacy skills while at university so they can work effectively in an increasingly information-intensive clinical environment. This can be achieved through learning how to effectively search for required information, critically evaluate it, apply and reference it. Librarians working in academic libraries can assist with this essential skill development through library instruction, delivery and support. The aim of this integrative review was to undertake an analysis of the peer-reviewed research in the context of library instruction programs delivered in undergraduate nursing courses. A synthesis of the key themes was also undertaken. This paper takes the form of an integrative review. Four library databases were systematically searched for research articles investigating 'library instruction' within 'undergraduate nursing' courses. The search strategy was based on synonyms for these two concepts. Sustained training and support across year levels provides the opportunity for positive student outcomes.Workers who experienced prolonged sitting have higher risk of mortality from all causes compared to non-sedentary workers. This research presents a novel intervention designed to reduce sedentary behavior in the workplace. Seven teams of employees (N = 30) conducted two meetings one in a sitting position and one on a stationary bike. Repeated measures for heart rate, perceptions of stress, well-being, focus, attention and fatigue were collected before, during and after both meetings. Heart rate was significantly higher during active meeting. Results also indicated a significant effect of active meeting on stress. Well-being, focus and attention were similar during both meetings. The longitudinal effects of temperament on sleep in infancy remain unclear, although this information is potentially important for the prevention and treatment of early sleep problems. We examined how various temperament features influence sleep development during the first year of life in a large birth cohort. This study comprised mother-infant dyads with complete longitudinal data on sleep, temperament and sociodemographic measurements at six and 12 months (N = 1436). We observed that higher infant Negative Affectivity was related to several sleep problems, and that many subscales of Negative Affectivity and Orienting/Regulation predicted worse sleep and deterioration in sleep problems from six to 12 months. Few associations between Surgency and sleep were found. While regulatory mechanisms of mitochondrial calcium uptake have been reported, it remains unknown if metabolite flux itself feedsback to regulate mitochondrial calcium (mCa2+) uptake. Signal. 2020) where the authors report that TCA cycle substrate flux regulates the mitochondrial calcium uniporter channel gatekeeper, mitochondrial calcium uptake 1 (MICU1), gene transcription in an early growth response protein 1 (EGR1) dependent fashion. They posit this is a regulatory feedback mechanism to control ionic homeostasis and mitochondrial bioenergetics with changing fuel availability. We demonstrate that knock-down (KD) of UCH-L1 in different cell lines reduces the levels of the mitochondrial fusion protein Mitofusin-2, but not Mitofusin-1, resulting in mitochondrial enlargement and disruption of the tubular network. This was associated with lower tethering between mitochondria and the endoplasmic reticulum, consequently altering mitochondrial calcium uptake. Respiratory function was also altered, as UCH-L1 KD cells displayed higher proton leak and maximum respiratory capacity. Conversely, overexpression of UCH-L1 increased Mfn2 levels, an effect dramatically enhanced by the mutation of the farnesylation site (C220S), which drives UCH-L1 binding to membranes.
