A unique clinical type of pectus, pectus arcuatum, is caused by premature obliteration of the sternal sutures (consisting of the manubrium, sternum, four sternebrae, and xiphoid process), while pectus carinatum arises from abnormal costal cartilage growth. To gain a more comprehensive understanding of pectus arcuatum, we examined the patient records of those with pectus arcuatum who were under our care.This multicenter, retrospective study analyzed patient files of young people diagnosed with pectus arcuatum.A clinical diagnosis of pectus arcuatum was confirmed in 34 individuals, showing an average age at diagnosis of 103 years (4-23 years). In a study of 16 patients (47%), a chest profile X-ray or CT scan was used to confirm the diagnosis of PA, showcasing sternal fusion. The full implementation occurred in a group of twelve patients. The established risk of hemoptysis in lung cancer patients treated with SAbR is notable, but the available data on the presence and impact of intrathoracic metastases remains fragmented. This study investigated the occurrence of life-threatening/fatal hemoptysis (LTH) in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients with chest metastases, emphasizing the role of stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SAbR). The UT Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) Kidney Cancer Program (KCP) undertook a systematic evaluation of patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) from July 2005 until March 2020. Using Kidney Cancer Explorer (KCE), a data portal holding clinical, pathological, and experimental genomic information, we performed our query. Patients eligible for inclusion were identified by the presence of hemoptysis in the clinical notes, by a prior bronchoscopy procedure, or by treatment with SAbR anywhere within the chest. Two hundred and thirty-four patients' records, which satisfied the query criteria, were all reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Our analysis revealed ten patients who had acquired LTH. Following the procedures, four exhibited LTH as an immediate complication, whereas the other six patients had undergone prior SAbR targeting ultra-central (UC) metastases bordering the central bronchial tree. Six patients received irradiation treatment for a combined total of ten lung lesions (eight were UC lesions, one was central, and one was peripheral), with a median cumulative dose of 38 Gray (Gy/lesion) per lesion.
